Even if everyone says that Page Rank (PR) has nothing to do with SERP, most of us are worried about getting a higher PR. When you browse through the top sites in Google, you will find that Google shows the sites that do have some decent PR. For example, if your site is about denim cloth, you should get the back links only from the relevant sites that deal with denim or cloth. Otherwise, Google will consider it as irrelevant and may even penalize your site. So do not forget relevancy.

Be Natural:

As a webmaster, you should have a good, refreshing and unique content on your site. Then you will get natural backlinks from the other webmasters. This is purely a natural way to get backlinks. Do not copy or duplicate the content from other sites. Remember, why should Google show your site when it has the same content as others?

Do Not Purchase Links:

Build a natural link building campaign. Do not involve in any sort of link purchasing activities. Google is very serious about this. That is the reason many of the sites that are engaged in link purchases are penalized manually. The sites which used to have a PR of 6 and 7 lost their value and are now left with grey ranking. Some websites are not even listed for their brand names.
